T3 is offered by the UCSB Triathlon Team to give high school students an opportunity to learn about and train for triathlon. The series will give high school kids the chance to engage inter-scholastically in a fun and high energy program at beautiful UC Santa Barbara!
Our clinics are free and will meet once each month. The goal of T3 is to introduce the sport of triathlon to high school athletes in a way that supports and supplements their current athletic pursuits. Whatever sport you do, even if you don't do a sport at all, the T3 series will make you stronger and you'll have fun.
While everyone is encouraged to participate in these competitive events —as individuals or on a relay team— you are not obligated to do so. Additionally, T3 participants will be offered a reduced rate for both of the races.
Specifics
The training clinics are open to all ability and competitive levels. The clinics will meet from 9 am until 1 pm. Each clinic will focus on different aspects of triathlon from running and swimming to transitioning.
There is no cost for participation in the clinics. Upon signing up for the series, individuals do receive an annual USAT membership and insurance.
To ensure the maximum level of safety (and fun!) them coach/athlete ratio will not exceed one to five. All events will be attended by CPR and lifeguard certified UCSB Triathletes and all swim sessions will be overseen by the UCSB pool lifeguard staff.
** The T3 program is being rescheduled with future events TBA. For more information, please contact: coachmateo@ucsbtriathlon.org
