Kendra Chiota Payne was a dedicated student, athlete, and world traveller. While on a training ride on Gibralter Road she was struck by a truck and killed. Kendra is remembered by all as a diverse, colorful individual whose incredible athletic abilities were only matched by her modesty. Her tenacity and spirit continues on in all of those touched by her life.

The Kendra Chiota Payne Memorial Fund has been established to further the development of confidence and leadership in young women through sports. A portion of your race entry fees will go to the fund, but if you wish to make an additional donation, you may make checks payable to UCSB Foundation and indicate on the check that it is for the Kendra Chiota Payne Memorial Fund.
