The Team provides 7 coached training sessions per week. Team mates are encouraged to make the key sessions and to follow the program on their own or with the team for the rest of the week.
Training is periodized and progressive. At different times of the year we focus more heavily on run, bike, and swim training. Coach Mateo also holds monthly clinics on topics and skills that include bike handling and safety, swim technique, transitions, and open water swimming.
Run and bike training is based on each individual's lactate threshold heart rate as determined through simple field tests. Swim training is built around threshold lane base time (and its long course!!!).
At team meetings we highlight the key elements of our training for the week. In the fall we have our team unity and goal setting workshop. And... we have tons of informal "team building" events from bbqs to halloween to scavenger hunts to team camping trips (not to be missed!).
