Favorite Triathlon
Anything put on by the UCSB Triathlon team! My favorite triathlon that I've raced is the Pacific Grove Olympic Distance - it has a cold swim, fun bike and flat run.
How did Hazard's Start?
In 1914 "Hap" Hazard started the bike shop. I bought it in 1991 and since I'd been racing triathlons and duathlons since the 80's, I added aero bars to the mix and slowly became a multi-sport shop.
Words of Wisdom
We all got into this sport to have fun. Don't lose sight of that during a race... have fun!
Fun Fact
I rode in San Diego in the early 90s with Greg Welch, Paula Newby-Frazer, Paul Huddle, Sian Welch, Mark Allen and a few others - instead of talking about triathlons, we talked about how silly of a sport Nascar is.
Favorite Triathlon Moment
Finishing the San Diego International triathlon and running down the finish chute with my son Kevin when he was 4 years old (he's in his first year at SDSU now). I was tired and he dragged me towards the line.

Why Hazard's Rocks
We've been doing this for a long time now and still love it. I love watching new athletes get into the sport. It reminds me of when I was younger and just starting out.
